A two-day recording session for the upcoming concert, Celebrate Dance, took place February 18 and 19 at Studio X.
“It was an amazing recording session,” said concert producer Glenna Burmer (right, in photo), with Tim Huling, conductor. “The concert is going to be sensational.”
Composers Nan Avant, Barry Dowsett, Eric Goetz, Maria Jose Felix and Lonnie Mardis joined Burmer and Huling in mid-February to hear their music performed by some of the Northwest’s most talented musicians.
Celebrate Dance premieres on April 25. This singular musical event features an evening of fun, food, dance and all-original music, along with choreography created just for this event. The concert celebrates the distinctive rhythms and sounds inspired by the rich traditions of Latin and Central American music.
Musicians at the recording session were: Mark Taylor, Kareem Kandi, Nathaniel Schleimer, Tony Grasso, Andy Omdahl, Gary Shutes, Milo Petersen, Jovino Santos Neto, Chuck Deardorf, Jeff Busch, Arturo Rodriguez, Susan Pascal, Tom Dziekonski, Allion Salvador, Jessica Jasper and Virginia Dziekonski.
Although the concert is sold out, CDs will be available for sale later this spring. Find out more or get added to our mailing list.
