A passion for music
Glenna Burmer founded Burmer Music in 2007 as a way to create world-premiere concerts of contemporary classical music. Each concert takes up to two years of preparation and collaboration by the area’s finest composers, musicians, soloists and other guest artists.
As a musician and composer, she is interested in many types of music, from adult contemporary to jazz to symphonic, and composes as part of her passion for music. Burmer concerts not only present talented composers and solo artists but also help support education or humanitarian causes. Educational programming and outreach are major components, extending the musical experience into the community.
CDs and DVDs allow the concert experience to be enjoyed worldwide. As media and box-office hits, Burmer Music concerts are award-winners, too! The 2013 concert, Celebrate World Music, won two IMA Vox Populi Awards for best contemporary classical album and best instrumental.
